Meet your teacherMiss Emily & Miss Kye

Hi there! I’m Miss Emily, and I can’t wait to be your little one’s teacher!
I’m 20 years old and joined the WLL family in February 2025. My favorite color is pink, and when I’m not here, I’m usually hanging out with my family or walking my sweet pup. I’m so excited for all the fun, learning, and giggles we’ll share this year!

About this class

In our Tiny Turtles’ classroom, learning is deeply rooted in sensory experiences, responsive interactions, and nurturing care. Here’s what you should expect to find:

  1. Sensory Exploration: Infants learn primarily through their senses. The classroom is designed to engage sight, sound, touch, and sometimes smell. Activities might include textured toys, colorful mobiles, soft fabrics, and safe objects that make gentle noises. Sensory play supports cognitive development and helps infants make sense of their world.
  2. Responsive Caregiving: The teacher’s role is crucial in providing responsive care. This means attending promptly to infants’ needs—whether they’re hungry, tired, or in need of comfort. Responsive interactions build trust and support emotional security, which is foundational for learning.
  3. Physical Development: Infants are encouraged to explore and develop their motor skills. Activities are tailored to their developmental stage, such as tummy time to strengthen neck and shoulder muscles, safe spaces to crawl, and opportunities to grasp and manipulate objects to build hand-eye coordination.
  4. Language Exposure: Even though infants are not yet speaking, exposure to language is critical. Teachers talk to infants frequently, describing what’s happening, singing songs, and reading simple books. This verbal interaction helps in language development and communication skills.
  5. Social Interaction: Infants benefit from social interactions with caregivers and peers. The classroom provides opportunities for gentle socialization, which helps in developing social skills and learning to respond to others’ emotions.
  6. Routine and Comfort: A consistent routine helps infants feel secure. Regular schedules for feeding, napping, and play help infants anticipate what comes next and provide a sense of stability.
  7. Safe Exploration: The environment is designed to be safe and stimulating. Soft, padded areas and childproofed spaces ensure that infants can explore freely without unnecessary risks. This environment supports curiosity and learning through safe exploration.
  8. Emotional and Social Bonding: Building strong, positive relationships with caregivers is essential. The focus is on creating a warm, affectionate atmosphere where infants feel loved and secure, which supports emotional development and a sense of well-being.

The Tiny Turtles’ classroom is a nurturing environment where learning happens through sensory experiences, responsive care, and consistent routines. It’s a place where infants begin to explore their world and develop foundational skills in a safe and supportive setting.

We love to watch babies develop and grow! All babies do this in their own time.  Our goals are to support infants as they learn to self soothe, encourage them to become mobile and explore, enjoy “conversation” with their teachers and peers, and much more!
