About us

Our Mission

We are committed to provide a safe and caring environment for the children of working parents with whom we partner to challenge the children with faith-building curriculum, positive social skills, and balanced early childhood education.

Created with a PURPOSE

In 1994, Wee Little Lambs Early Learning Center of the Mt. Holly Springs United Methodist Church (now known as Hilltop Community Church) opened its doors in response to an expressed need for quality, affordable childcare in the borough and surrounding area. Through this ministry, our childcare center provides children with the experiences necessary to grow and develop spiritually, emotionally, socially, mentally, and physically.

We are licensed by the PA Department of Public Welfare. We also participate in the Pennsylvania Keystone STAR program and have a STAR FOUR designation!

Curriculum and Program

It has been said that “a child’s work is play!” The development of social skills and respect for others through play is a critical piece in building a strong and positive foundation for lifelong education. At Wee Little Lambs, helping our students become well-rounded humans—socially and academically—is a goal we value.

We adhere to state regulations in regard to curriculum and lesson planning, as well as periodic assessments of a child’s development. Our curriculum framework is developmentally appropriate and child-centered, upon which we add a Christian perspective to help children understand the great love of God.

Active play includes hands-on experiences that enrich children’s creativity, language, math, science, fine motor and social skills. Play offers numerous opportunities to discover and explore, to problem-solve, to work out those large muscles, and to laugh and sing are offered daily.

Monthly themes and projects incorporate a variety of subjects relating to holidays, seasons, and the environment. More complex skills and concepts are added as children’s abilities grow.

Classroom environments give structure and flexibility each child needs. Interest areas stimulate curiosity, allowing children to practice new skills and build upon them.

I have one brother and a half sister. My sister has 7 kids, so I have 5 nephews and 2 nieces, that I unfortunately don't get to see very often. I graduated from Big Spring in 2016 as well as Cumberland-Perry Area Vocational Technical School for Early Childhood education. After starting at WLL I also earned my CDA in early childhood. I love to go on adventures, be in the outdoors and spend time with husband and family. My favorite color is light blue and my favorite animal is a dog. I love to paint and shop!

Ms. Nancy - Office Administrator

I love house plants, but I struggle to keep them alive!

Wee Little Lambs has been near and dear to my heart for as long as I can remember. As a kid, my mom worked here at WLL. I worked here on breaks and summers throughout college and for a time after grad school. I am very happily married to my husband, Adam, and we have 3 boys, Sam, Judah, and Boaz. There is never a dull moment as a boy mom!

My nickname in school was "Greasy Chip" because my parents owned Kay and Ray's Potato Chips, named after me and my brother, Ray.

Ms. Kay Preschool Co-Lead Teacher

I am Miss Kay, and my maiden name was Kay Heckendorn and I am 1 of 9 children. As a child I was raised on a farm in Newville where I bought, raised and sold many animals over the years, and banked the money. The year I was born, 1956, my parents bought a company called Dot and Jon's Potato Chips. I grew up knowing the business that they later renamed Kay and Ray's potato chips. I worked most of my life in the business, rasing, frying and bagging the chips long after I was married. I married my high school sweetheart, Steve, my best friend and soulmate. We were married in 1976 and have 1 daughter and 1 grandson. I have worked at WLL since 2002 and it has been a mission for me. I graduated from Big Spring and have earned my CDA in Early Childhood. My favorite past time is watching movies. It is a great escape from the stress of life. Movies are intriguing to me, I like those that have a plot and twists in them.
